Pedal to the Medal on Live Preview - Journey Update

If you've been following along, you know that live preview — the ability to see your name on a Topper Tag™ before you buy — has been a big focus behind the scenes. The last update I shared covered where we were headed. Today I want to share how far we've come, and honestly, how we got there.
The problem I had to solve first
The dream was simple: type your name, see your Topper Tag™. The reality? A standard photo-based approach would have required tens of thousands of individual product cuts and images — one for every style, in every color, for every tumbler type. That was never going to be sustainable for a one-woman shop.
So I had to find a smarter way.
What I landed on was a combination of photography and Photoshop. I went back and retook photos of all of our base color acrylics — this time making sure the scale of the textures was actually accurate. Patterns and glitters needed to look true to life: not blown up huge, not shrunk down tiny, but the way they actually look sitting on your tumbler. Once the photos were right, I learned how to cut out the exact shape of each Topper Tag™ style in Photoshop, creating a clean digital mockup layer that can be reused across any name or text — no new photography required.
It's one of those solutions that feels obvious in hindsight, but getting there took a lot of trial and error.
What's live now
This rollout is still in progress — we're working through every tumbler type and updating existing listings — but a lot has already gone live:
One honest caveat
There's a small exception I want to be upfront about, because accuracy matters a lot to me — especially after going to these lengths to make every swatch as true to life as possible.
For the Brumate, ProTour, and HydroJug listings, our clear glitter options — the sparkle bases and clear confetti colors — currently show a white background in the live preview instead of the true appearance, which is clear acrylic that lets the color of your tumbler show through. It doesn't represent them correctly, and I'm not willing to leave something misleading up just to fill out a listing faster.
The plan is to actually photograph (vs. doing a digital mockeup) those blanks so you can actually see the clear base and how it looks on the cup. But since those photos can't be mixed into the Every Color listing format, I'll be creating separate listings specifically for the clear glitter bases. In the meantime, I've left those colors off the affected listings rather than show them inaccurately.
The one exception is the Stanley Quencher — every single color option, including the clear glitters, is available and accounted for there.
Want a clear glitter base before those listings go up?
You don't have to wait. All of our clear glitter bases are available now — just select any glitter color in the listing, then add a note at checkout with the specific color you'd like. We'll take care of the rest.
What's still coming
We're continuing to roll live preview out across all cup types and working through existing listings to bring them up to the same standard. And now that the groundwork is laid, that should be happening much more quickly. The goal is for every Topper Tag™ purchase on the site to include a live preview — so you always know exactly what you're getting before it ships.
Thank you for following along while we build this out the right way.
